BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 is the second iteration of the BetBoom Dacha tournament with a prize pool of $1,000,000. This event is slated to kick off on the 4th of February in Dubai, UAE. Twelve teams will be competing in the tournament for the lion’s share of the prize pool. Out of the twelve teams, seven teams — Team Spirit, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, LGD Gaming, BetBoom Team, Aurora, and Xtreme Gaming — received a direct invite to the tournament.
The remaining five teams had to go earn their spots through tedious regional qualifiers. One team each from the Western European (WEU), Eastern European (EEU), Middle Eastern and North African (MENA), North American and South American (NA & SA), and China and Southeast Asian (CN & SEA) regions qualified to play in the main tournament via their respective closed qualifiers.
Teams That Qualified Via Closed Qualifiers for the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai
The BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai EEU and CN & SEA qualifiers concluded on 10th January. The following day, on 11th January, the NA and SA regional qualifiers also concluded. However, the WEU and MENA regional qualifiers are still underway and are expected to conclude on 14th January. With that, three teams have secured their spots at the offline LAN tournament in Dubai.
Here is a list of all teams that have qualified for the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai main tournament so far:
1. Eastern European Region – Virtus.pro
The first team that managed to secure its spot at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai main tournament through the closed qualifier was Virtus.pro. Beating Yellow Submarine, Klim Sani4, and L1ga Team twice (once in the upper bracket finals and later in the qualifying series), Virtus.pro proved it was worthy to take a spot at the main tournament.
2. CN & SEA Region – Azure Ray
ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 champion Azure Ray also managed to secure its spot in the main tournament. The qualifier was a treat to the Dota 2 community as it marked the first official game of Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida (aka Bach) who came out of retirement this season. Azure Ray beat Titan, Geek Fam, IHC Esports, and Geek Fam once again in the final series to secure its spot in the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai main tournament.
3. NA & SA Region – nouns
The newly revamped team, nouns, managed to beat the odds and win the closed qualifier despite playing with a stand-in, Entity’s Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau. Following its TI12 (The International 2023) run, nouns released its roster and adopted a new roster that lacked a mid-laner. This roster made its debut at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifier but failed to qualify for the tournament. Almost a month later, the team has finally found success as it is the latest team to join the main tournament.
4. WEU Region – TBD
The Western European Region is currently underway and as of now, OG and Team Secret look to be the strongest contenders in the region. The results of the qualifiers can be expected by 14th January.
5. MENA Region -TBD
The MENA region had no open qualifiers due to the lack of teams participating and only organized closed qualifiers. Nigma Galaxy is one of the teams playing in the qualifier and fans are keeping a keen eye on the team as Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi has made his comeback after a year of hiatus. However, Team Falcons is proving to be a force to be reckoned with as it continues its rampage in the closed qualifier. The results of the closed qualifier of MENA can also be expected by 14th January.
The regional qualifiers saw some new teams making their debut. Notably, we got to see Heroic, L1ga Team making their debut in the NA & SA qualifiers and EEU qualifiers, respectively. The qualifiers also saw an interesting moment when Mongolian esports organization IHC Esports was eliminated after facing an unfortunate power outage against Geek Fam in the CN & SEA region.
