Jordan Pickford is reportedly set to be handed a new contract at Everton in what would be a smart piece of business from the Toffees.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper will see his current deal extended despite it still running until 2027 at the time of writing.
Having his long term future secured, however, is paramount to David Moyes’ plans with the stopper recently playing his 300th game for the club as his side edged out Crystal Palace before the international break.
Pickford – also England’s number one – has become a top player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and the importance of tying him down on fresh terms cannot be overstated for the club.
But he is not the only big name in the Premier League who could certainly be doing with a new deal at his club.
Top Premier League players out of contract in 2026
Next summer, in 2026, will see a number of major EPL stars end their stints with some of the biggest teams in the country unless they also pen new agreements.
We took a look at some of the heavy hitters who could potentially walk away for free next year or be sold for a cut-price in January if they choose not to sign a pre-contract elsewhere.
There are as many as 78 stars throughout the top flight who will be out of contract in 2026 but we have kept the closest eye on those who have the biggest names.
Ibrahima Konate
Liverpool’s central defender is arguably one of the biggest players in world football in his position and the Reds will surely not want to let him leave the club.
Certainly not on a free!
Real Madrid have been linked with Konate and could wait his deal out if Arne Slot cannot convince him to extend.
Marc Guehi

Crystal Palace’s defender had his dream Anfield move swiped away from him on deadline day and will almost certainly leave Selhurst Park in January.
Bernardo Silva
Benfica want Silva to return to the Eagles in 2026 and the Portuguese playmaker has hinted that he already knows what he plans to do next year upon the expiry of his deal.
He left it vague but the expectation is that he will leave the Etihad and Manchester City.
John Stones
The defender is 31 but could still have some time left at the top having turned out for City since 2016.
You would expect the England international to be dealt in.
Andy Robertson
Has been playing second fiddle to Milos Kerkez this season and was linked with Atletico Madrid previously.
May be allowed to leave Liverpool by Slot, depending on possible replacement and how often the Scotland captain could feature.
Harry Maguire
Maguire has made it clear he wants a new deal at Manchester United but it remains to be seen whether or not Ruben Amorim will keep him around.

He has interest in Saudi with mega money on the table but he wants to remain at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian will likely leave United.
Nick Pope
Newcastle United’s goalkeeper may have an error or two in him but the England international has given the Magpies three good years.
At 33, the former Burnley goalie should be coming into his prime years and with the club in Europe right now, homegrown numbers cannot be ignored. It makes sense for Pope to be offered a new contract.
Ben Davies
The left-back may have run his course at Tottenham especially considering the new management team in the door this season.
The Welshman is 32 and will be 33 when his deal runs out which could see him move on. He likely won’t be short of suitors even at 33 but won’t be offered anything new.
Lewis Dunk
Should be given a massive send-off by Brighton after what will be 16 years at the club when 2026 hits.
He will be 34 and maybe his best Premier League days will be behind him. But he could surely still do a job for someone and retirement won’t yet be an option.
