After being on the sidelines for almost a year Cris Cyborg returned to action earlier today (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) in impressive fashion in the co-main event of PFL Lyon in Lyon, France, which was the promotion’s final event of the year.
The fearsome striker’s latest victim was Sara Collins, who was making her promotional debut after upsetting Leah McCourt under the Bellator banner to cut the championship line to improve to 6-0. That said, it was clear that while most felt she was out of her league, Collins proved to be a formidable foe once the action got going.
As usual, Cyborg — the former UFC women’s Featherweight champion — came out of the gates aggressive looking for the home run shot immediately. Collins weathered the storm initially, and fired off several nice kicks of her own, all while withstanding her foe’s constant pressure. In fact, Collins secured a couple of takedowns but was unable to do much with them since Cyborg stayed busy on her back.
In the third round, Collins managed to get Cyborg in a bad spot after managing to land a throw. However, the longtime veteran was able to maneuver her way out of a headlock to take Collins’ back. From there, it was only a matter of time before she was able to sink in the fight-ending submission.

With the win, Cyborg becomes PFL’s official women’s 145-pound champion, adding yet another world title to her already-full trophy case. As for what’s next for the Brazilian bruiser only time will tell, but she is very willing to face off against any and everyone the promotion puts in front of her.
