UFC CEO Dana White is adding another bonus into the mix for UFC 331 this weekend.
UFC 331 goes down Saturday September 19th from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California and features a flyweight title fight between Joshua Van and former champ Alexandre Pantoja. Also on the card: a lightweight contender match between Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy.
There’s plenty of other names to get excited about on the undercard: Patricio Pitbull, Gable Steveson, Marlon Vera, Robelis Despaigne, and Edmen Shahbazyan are all competing. They all have a chance to win $100,000 Fight of the Night or Performance of the Night bonuses. They can win a $25,000 finish bonus. And now one lucky fighter can earn a $50,000 ‘Proper Chaos’ bonus thanks to the TV show MobLand.
“Long before I did a deal with Paramount, I’ve been telling you guys I’m a huge fan of MobLand,” White explained in an Instagram video. “It is one of the best shows on television. Here we go: season two premieres this Friday on Paramount+ the night before UFC 331 in LA, so for one night only, we’re bringing a little proper chaos into the Octagon.”
“At UFC 331, we are unlocking the ‘Proper Chaos’ bonus: $50,000 awarded to the fighter who I think deserves it most.”
There’s no explanation for what might constitute a ‘Proper Chaos’ performance, other than what the name implies: it’ll go to whoever goes out and puts on a performance that ignores safety and sanity for chaos and destruction. White has regularly said his job is to provide ‘Holy S–t’ moments to people, and now he’s got another bonus in his pocket to pull out for someone who delivers.
