Misfits Boxing 22 went down yesterday (Sat., Aug. 30, 2025) inside AO Arena in Manchester, England, which saw former UFC Welterweight title challenger, Darren Till, knockout former UFC Middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold for the promotion’s Bridgerweight title in devastating fashion (see it again here). In the co-main event, former UFC interim Lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, got back on the winning track by stopping Salt Papi in what was “El Cucuy’s” boxing debut (highlights).
Biggest Winner: Tony Ferguson
The last time Ferguson won anything of note in the combat arena was back in 2019 when he stopped Donald Cerrone via technical knockout (TKO) at UFC 238. Since then, “El Cucuy” had lost his next eight fights inside the Octagon in a decline no one saw coming. That said, Ferguson was taking on the cream of the crop each time out inside the Octagon. But after a six-year win-less drought, the former UFC champion was able to finally have his hand raised in victory after pulling off a come-from-behind TKO win over Salt Papi thanks to a crisp combination (see it here). For all die-hard fight fans, it was a great sight to see Ferguson get a victory, which earned him the promotion’s interim Middleweight title.
Till may have left UFC on a three-fight losing streak, but “The Gorilla” has really found his groove under the Misfits Boxing banner, winning his first three fights with the boxing promotion including wins over Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart. But his most recent win may have been his most impressive because the way he put Rockhold out was absolutely brutal (see it again here). He dominated him the entire fight and his striking was as crisp as can be. He has really found a home with Misfits, but if he can keep this going he may eventually find himself with an invite back to the Octagon.
Biggest Loser: Luke Rockhold
After ending his UFC career with three straight losses, Rockhold hasn’t been able to garner much success outside of the Octagon. While he did manage to defeat Joe Schilling at Karate Combat, he lost to Mike Perry under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) banner. He went on to try his hand in the boxing ring, but that didn’t go too well for the former UFC champion, who was viciously knocked out by Till in the third round. It’s the latest tough setback for a man who was once considered the best Middleweight in the world. But at 40 years of age, it’s obviously his best combat days are behind him, and there is no telling where he goes after his latest devastating defeat.
