Danis Yanked From Misfits Boxing Event Following UFC 322 Brawl

It looks like Dillon Danis will suffer more than just an Octagon ban after his shocking cageside melee at UFC 322 las month in New York City.

According to a recent press release by Misfits Boxing, Danis is “not medically cleared to compete” at the upcoming Misfits Mania boxing event on Dec. 20 in Dubai. Danis was expected to defend his Misfits MMA title against combat veteran Anthony Taylor in a high-profile co-main event.

So why has Danis been declared medically unfit to fight in two weeks?

It all stems back to his visit to UFC 322 last month in New York City that went completely awry after Danis got into an altercation with Islam Makhachev’s team cageside. One thing led to another and an all-out brawl broke out in the crowd. Danis was thrashed around by Magomed Zaynukov, better known to fight fans as “John Pork,” before being ushered out of Madison Square Garden by police.

On Friday, Misfits Boxing released an official statement about Danis’ removal from the upcoming Dec. 20 event. Per the statement, independent physicians have been unable to clear Danis for competition following his extracurricular activity at UFC 322. Bummer.

“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis will not be competing at “The Fight Before Christmas” event in Dubai on December 20, 2025.

“Independent physicians have determined that he is not medically cleared to compete at this time due to the melee that occurred at Madison Square Garden last month.

“We want to be very direct: this call is being made solely by medical professionals. Dillon pushed for every possible path to remain on the card, but the doctors were not willing to clear him to compete this month.

“Misfits Boxing takes athlete health extremely seriously, and we fully expect him back in the Misfits ring in 2026 to defend his Misfits MMA title.”
