Kevin Lee doesn’t blame MMA fans for ‘the write off’ — but does plan to ‘shut them up’ with PFL victory in Wichita

Fight fans have already forgotten about Francis Ngannou, one of the most feared heavyweights in the history of MMA, which is why former UFC lightweight, Kevin Lee, doesn’t blame the combat sports community for writing him off.

But it sounds like the “Motown Phenom” is going to “shut them up” with a breakout performance against PFL lightweight champion Gadzhi Rabadanov atop tomorrow night’s (June 20) fight card inside INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

MMA Fighting. “A lot of people have forgot about me and a lot of people have doubted me so it’s time to shut them up. I don’t even really blame people too much for the write off because it’s been five years since I’ve been in this division, the start of the pandemic.”

Lee (20-8) jumped to the 170-pound weight class after struggling on the scale.

“For a lot of people the start of the pandemic feels like a lifetime ago,” Lee added. “Not only that, but this sport has grown so much that there have been so many new fans that have come in since the pandemic that don’t remember 2017, they don’t remember 2018, they don’t remember 2019. It’s time that I make my stamp and remind them who I am.”

Lee took the bout on short notice following an injury to Jay-Jay Wilson.
