Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz has signed a new five-year contract with the west London club.
The future of the 24-year-old Brazilian was the subject of speculation over the summer amid reports suggesting he was on the brink of a £34m move to Italian side Atalanta.
But the forward, who joined Fulham four years ago from the Brazilian side Flamengo for an undisclosed fee, is now set to remain at Craven Cottage until June 2030.
What did Rodrigo Muniz say about signing a new Fulham contract?
The contract includes an option for Fulham to extend the deal for a further year.
“I’m very grateful, and I would like to thank the club for having trust in me,” said Muniz. “I would also like to thank my family, my friends in Brazil, and all the fans.
“I would like to thank everyone. It’s an amazing feeling to stay here and to have this contract and to safeguard my future.”
How Rodrigo Muniz became a cult hero at Fulham
The striker has become something of a cult figure at Fulham after coming off the bench to score late winners at Newcastle and Chelsea last term.
Muniz also produced a last-gasp winner at Brighton on the opening weekend of the Premier League season to burnish his “super-sub” reputation further.
In all, Muniz has scored 18 goals in 62 Premier League appearances for Fulham
“I’m thrilled that we have extended the contract of Rodrigo Muniz until at least 2030,” said Tony Khan, Fulham’s vice-chairman and director of football operations.
“He’s a great professional, revered by his team-mates, staff, and Fulham supporters, and he’s scored some very important goals for the club.”
