Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier recently needed a trip to the hospital after a new chicken recipe went awry.
Earlier this week, Cormier joined co-host Chael Sonnen for a new episode of ESPN’s “Good Guy / Bad Guy” podcast and shared some interesting news about his health. According to Cormier, he ended up in the hospital earlier in the week with a really bad allergic reaction. “DC” revealed that he had made a new marinade for his kid’s chicken and believes that was the culprit.

“I’m in my house, and I’m putting together my kid’s queen-size bed,” said Cormier. “So I get one of those sealed mattresses, and I start to cut it open. I cut the mattress too deep, to the bottom—it explodes up, the knife hits me in the chest. It would have killed me if the knife’s edge had hit me. I was shaking.”
