Yuvraj Singh engaged in a verbal showdown with Tino Best during the final of the International Masters League 2025 between India Masters and West Indies Masters on Sunday, March 16. The duel was being played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
The incident took place after the first delivery of the 14th over which had started off with Ambati Rayudu hitting a maximum off Ashley Nurse’s bowling. It was after the ball had been deposited into the stands that Yuvraj directed words at Tino, who was fielding inside the 30-yard circle. The 43-year-old West Indian did not back down, and went shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian all-rounder.

It was an aggressive confrontation between the two passionate cricketers. The two had to be calmed down by umpire Billy Bowden, Rayudu and WI Masters skipper Brian Lara. Interestingly, the over before tempers flared, Best was taken for 12 runs by the two batters in the middle.

India Masters ended up clinching a six-wicket win over West Indies Masters in the inaugural season of the IML on the back of a breezy 74 by Rayudu. The top-order batter’s 50-ball knock comprised nine fours and three maximums. The Indian outfit chased down the 149-run target with six wickets in hand and 2.5 overs to spare.

Earlier in the day, Dwayne Smith (45 off 35) had started off in quite a promising fashion despite the fall of Brian Lara and William Perkins for six-run knocks, respectively. Lendl Simmons ended up as West Indies Masters’ leading run-getter with 57 to his name. Vinay Kumar ended up with a three-wicket haul. Shahbaz Nadeem was the pick of the bowlers though, conceding only 12 runs in his entire quota and picking up two wickets.
