Ange Postecoglou is a manager in demand, it seems, despite his sacking at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer.
The Australian coach has a trophy-winning CV to his name having stormed the Scottish Premiership with Celtic before leaving Glasgow for North London.
As was promised, Big Ange also won a trophy in his second season as Spurs boss before Daniel Levy ruthlessly cut ties with the 60-year-old despite the silverware resting in their cabinet.
Levy has since stepped down and his successes and failures will be studied by supporters for years to come, but with Thomas Frank now in the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it remains to be seen whether or not axing Postecoglou is one or the other.
This week, Postecoglou was reportedly in the running to replace former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag as gaffer at Bayer Leverkusen following the Bundesliga outfit’s shocking decision to axe the Dutchman after just three matches in charge.
Ange Postecoglou lost Bayer Leverkusen job to Kasper Hjulmand
It was a call made by the boardroom which reportedly came for a multitude of reasons but it saw Ten Hag walk away with millions in the bank.
It also meant Leverkusen had to act quickly and despite speaking with Ange, it was former Denmark international coach Kasper Hjulmand who was handed the reins at the Bayer Arena.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed as much on his social media page that Hjulmand was always ahead of the Greek-born boss in the running.
He tweeted: “Bayer Leverkusen had positive meeting with Kasper Hjulmand as favourite to become new head coach. More talks this week but Hjulmand ahead of Ange Postecoglou and more candidates at this stage.”
That leaves questions over Postecoglou’s future and what might be next for the coach who also won titles with Yokohama F Marinos in Japan before heading to Celtic.
It has been reported recently that Postecoglou had interested clubs in Saudi who were keen to take him, however nothing ever materialised.
He was also said to be in the running to replace the departed Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce but, again, nothing came of it. Or, at least, not yet.

Could he be in line for another move back to the Premier League next?
Nuno Espirito Santo is said to be under fire at Nottingham Forest after admitting his relationship has changed with Evangelos Marinakis over the summer.
Postecoglou has history with the club president and could be willing to wait in the wings should Nuno be punted.
A return to Celtic should also not be ruled out with Brendan Rodgers likely to leave the club upon expiry of his contract at the end of the season.
Graham Potter is also on a shoogly peg and Postecoglou could be an option for West Ham United in England if that is his preference.
