26-year-old Arshad Khan was brought in against the Delhi Capitals for tearaway speedster Mayank Yadav after the latter suffered a minor setback with an injury to deal with. Reports have come out stating that Mayank might miss the next couple of games for the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 26 of IPL 2024.
The left-arm pacer from Madhya Pradesh, who is yet to play a first-class game, has an experience of eight List A matches, picking 11 wickets in those games. He has also represented his state in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy, gaining some vital experience during those games.

He was brought in by the Mumbai Indians at his base price of INR 20 lakh ahead of IPL 2022 but got ruled out for the entire season after sustaining an injury. Despite not playing a single match, MI retained him for the following season. With Jasprit Bumrah out with a back issue and Jofra Archer out after playing a few games, Arshad got his break and represented MI for six games, picking five wickets. However, his economy in the matches he played was 13.41.
Arshad’s journey came with its own set of difficulties, with him having to wake up at 3 am to travel from Seoni to Jabalpur for cricket, as said by his coach Abdul Kalam in an interview with ESPNcricinfo back in 2023.

The leading wicket-taker in the 2019-20 CK Nayudu Trophy, with 35 wickets to his name, was released by MI following a mediocre season with them. Thankfully, he was roped in by LSG into the setup as a backup. With all the backing out for various reasons and injuries inflicted, he comes into the scheme of things and LSG will be hoping that he delivers for them in the ongoing season of the IPL.
