The high-scoring T20I series between India and West Indies moves to Hyderabad, where the visitors are now in must-win territory. Shai Hope’s team would have fancied their chances of chasing 224 in Indore on Sunday, but his early dismissal, plus the absence of dew, saw India prevail.
India’s deep batting lineup came to the fore last time out. At the halfway mark, a 250+ score seemed likely before a string of wickets threatened to derail the innings. Such is the nature of modern batting that 223 looked about par, and that was thanks to the lower order scoring vital runs and stretching the innings to the 20-over mark.
Earlier in the evening, Abhishek Sharma became the quickest to 2,000 T20I runs in terms of balls faced as he threatened to completely take the game away from the West Indies. However, his 30-ball 69 still put India in a strong position, and if the hosts get another solid platform, the middle order will be aiming to better build on it this time around.
For the West Indies, there were still positives despite the defeat. The way they came back after the powerplay in Indore was promising, and they have enough power in their lineup to cause the Indian attack problems. However, whether they rely too much on Shai Hope remains to be seen.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad Pitch Report and Weather: A night of massive scores?
Watch out, bowlers. Hyderabad is one of the friendliest batting wickets in world cricket, with scores of 310, 297, 286 and 277 in the last two years. The 297 was by India against Bangladesh in 2024, where Sanju Samson smashed 111 off 47 balls.
Expect another excellent batting track with the potential for dew on what should be a warm and mostly clear night. Chasing will be preferred, but there is the possibility of a 250+ total batting first.
IND vs WI 4th T20 2026 Fantasy Cricket Tips: Abhishek Sharma returns to Hyderabad, where he has an excellent record
Top wicket-keeper picks:
- As mentioned, Sanju Samson has smashed a T20I hundred on this ground. He missed out in Indore but hit 82 in the previous match at Ranchi.
- The law of averages caught up with Shai Hope in the third T20I. Given his form (104, 162*, 52 and 102* in previous four matches) and the expected conditions, not picking Hope in a Dream11 team would be a brave move.
- Ishan Kishan has looked good in this series without making a big score (117 runs at a strike rate of 174.62). In 17 T20s at Hyderabad, Kishan has scored 547 runs at an average of 36.5 and strike rate of 160.4.
Key batter picks:
- Abhishek Sharma is the top Dream11 captaincy option for this match. In 31 T20s on this ground, Abhishek has smashed 975 runs at an average of 34.8 and strike rate of 211.
- Sherfane Rutherford is the top run-scorer in this series (174) at a strike rate of 189.01.
- Shreyas Iyer hammered an unbeaten century in the opening T20I and followed it up with an 18-ball 40 in Ranchi. He missed out in Indore but remains a big threat to the Windies. He can be a good differential captain in Dream11.
Top all-rounder picks:
- Roston Chase has been the pick of the bowlers in this series. He has taken six wickets at a superb economy of 8.48, and will be key against Abhishek, whom he has dismissed twice in 13 balls in T20s.
- Axar Patel has a dominant record against Rovman Powell in T20Is (17 balls, 19 runs, three wickets). He can also contribute with the bat down the order if needed.
Key bowler picks:
- Arshdeep Singh picked up the massive wicket of Shai Hope in the last game. He also bowls a lot at the death which increases his fantasy value. Two of his three wickets at Indore came in the 18th over.
