South Africa (SA) square off against Zimbabwe (ZIM) in the final of the Tri-Series in Namibia on Sunday, September 6. The Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek will host the all-important fixture.
The Proteas had the worst possible start to their campaign as they lost to Namibia by 18 runs on the opening day of the competition. However, Bjorn Fortun’s side bounced back commendably after the debacle, as they defeated Zimbabwe twice and Namibia once to finish on top of the points table. They will be the favourites heading into the final.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe made it to the final after registering two wins against hosts Namibia. However, they would be disappointed having lost both their matches against a second-string South African side, despite having a full-strength squad themselves. The Chevrons would have to do the basics right on Sunday to beat the Proteas for the first time in the shortest format.
