As expected, his camp has been intense.
For this camp, Chimaev has been based out of Newport Beach, Calif., training at Santo Performance Studio, where he’s brought in a steady stream of elite talent. That includes former Light Heavyweight title challenger Khalil Rountree, who previously admitted Chimaev’s pace and pressure in sparring were eye-opening. “Borz” has even implemented competitive “bounties,” offering to pay top fighters if they can beat or submit him in the gym.
In newly released footage on Chimaev’s YouTube channel, the champion repeatedly takes Allen down, controls him on the mat, and lands heavy shots — including a punch that visibly bloodied “All In.”
At one point, Chimaev checks in mid-round.
“I’m no bitch,” Allen responds. “Go, go, go.”
Still, it was another dominant showing from Chimaev, who continues to build momentum heading into his first title defense.
For what it’s worth, Allen returns just weeks later, co-headlining UFC Vegas 118 against Edmen Shahbazyan.
